The movie, April Fool, produced by the HND 2 broadcast students of Mass Communication at Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic (AAPOLY) in Ijebu-Igbo, is set to be premiered on the 14th of February, at the Polytechnic’s main auditorium.
The movie directed by Damilare Olusiyan, is a collaborative effort by the students enrolled in the HND Mass Communication Broadcast program. As part of their curriculum, the students are required to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in the course MAC 417 (Film Production Techniques) to produce a full-length feature film.
This practical project aims to provide the students with hands-on experience in various aspects of film production, including scriptwriting, directing, cinematography, editing, sound design, and production management. By working together as a team, the students can apply their skills and creativity to bring their vision to life on the big screen.
The plot of the movie is centered around a lady, Mary Adeosun (April), who was being stalked around by an unknown hodie man. Due to her mental health issues, she was never believed by her husband and close friend whenever she tried to talk about this hoodie man, leading to more tragic events.
The film, which was shot in the Ijebu-Igbo area of Ogun state in early December 2023, is estimated to be a project worth over 2 million naira.
April Fool promises to be a captivating and entertaining film that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats. The students have poured their creativity, passion, and hard work into this project, ensuring it will be a must-watch for movie enthusiasts.
Highlights of the movie premiere will include a fashion show and several media engagements.
