ASCOM Holds Training in Preparation For Freshers’ Cup

As the Freshers’ Cup competition approaches, the Association of Students Communicators (ASCOM), Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic (AAPOLY) chapter has been gearing up in anticipation of the yearly football competition played between different departments in the polytechnic.


UCJAAPOLY witnessed one of their training sessions on Monday and observed that different trainings are been conducted for male and female players, including long and short passes, and penalty shootouts. 


The ASCOM coach, Oluwasun Falowo who spoke to UCJAAPOLY at the sideline of the training said the improvements in the path of the players have been recorded since the inception of the training this semester, while also noting that the turnout of interested players has been encouraging. 


“The number of players that turned up for the training is encouraging. The ASCOM executive helps provide training kits for players who do not have and the players love playing football and wish to become professional footballers,” he said. 


Meanwhile, the Sports Director of the association, Agabi Qudus noted that the association is hoping to receive more talent when new students resume fully in January 2024.


The Fresher’s Cup competition is scheduled to commence in January.
