Finally the day came, 25th of February 2023 Nigeria took the decision by casting their vote for candidate of their choice at different polling unit national wide.

Frustrated Nigerians pointed issues on fuel scarcity, scarcity of the newly redesigned notes which has caused an upheaval in the country which prompted voters (Nigerians) to cast their vot and decide for leaders of the new government, the new Nigeria.

The election saw many Nigerians  still lined up after voters were delayed casting their votes till the very hours of that evening. Violence  caused delays at several polling units. The official deadline for  casting votes could not be met. violences were reported in different places causing a disruption in  the election process. Howeverin some areathe election process appeared to have gone peacefully as voters cast their ballots.

The Bimodal Accreditation System (BVAS) already introduced in the Osun state elections was brought in use that day. The machine was used in different polling units butcomplaints from Nigerians was that some staff of  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) refused to upload results to the INEC result viewing portal; which was considered INEC’s database.

Nigeria awaited  the successor of President Muhammadu Buhari as (INEC) collateresults they could gather. This obviously kept Nigerians waiting and in doubt of INEC’s credibility to handle a fair elections.

Nigeria saw the announcement of results taking forever. Questions were asked what was causing the delay? Why are they not uploading the results? Are they planning to rig the elections?

The issue with the) result became an issue on the lips of every Nigerian. Finally the successor of President Muhammadu Buhari was announced. (ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU) PKA JAGABAN was announced the winner, beating his closest rivals; Atiku and Obi.

I won the election I will prove it in court” was the reaction gotten from the Labour Party candidate; Peter Obi.

As Nigeria appears to have a  new face, and a new government, there is still doubts as to whether Tinubu really won the elections without rigging it.
