The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate representing Ijebu-North, Ijebu-East and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, Honourable (Engr.) Joseph Folorunsho Adegbesan popularly known as Alaanu Lomo has promised to bring in investors to improve the Educational sector of his constituency when elected into the Green Chambers.
Adegbesan, while speaking in an interview at the Department of Mass Communication, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo’s radio studio said that there are lots of programs mapped out for the people of his constituency including empowerment for the aged, scholarship for indigent students and concrete investor-relationship that will expand the Education sector.
He said, “I understand how pivotal the Education of our youths are to the development of the nation and this is why I will ensure that investors are welcomed with open arms in order to give the Education sector the needed facelift. Asides that, I will move motions for the increment in the Education budget so it can help foster the sector especially at the grassroots. Bringing in investors is important because it may not be easy for the government to deliver 100% on all sectors so investors will help fill in the gaps.
Speaking on other plans he has for the people of his constituency, he mentioned the impact of the Agriculture sector on the economy and promised to help farmers grow their income by giving them equipment at reduced prices.
Adegbesan said “I have lots of programs for the people of my constituency. The Agriculture sector is one of the key movers of the Nigerian economy and I have plans to give tractors to farmers at reduced prices in order to aid their farming activities which will in turn boost the local economy. I have also discovered that the aged people in our society are not given the needed attention. It is why I will be creating a platform which will provide free food and medical services for the aged people. This would constantly help them live their old age in a comfortable environment with full confidence in a government that holds them in high esteem”.
Noting that the synergy between Dapo Abiodun’s re-election ambition and his candidature is important for the growth of the state, Adegbesan said that his counterpart is ready to work with him to provide needed infrastructural and landmark constituency projects for the people of the state.
In a show of promise-fulfillment, Adegbesan presented a new generator to the Department of Mass Communication, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic and even promised to do more if the students and staff can go out to the polls to vote competent and people-oriented candidates into public office.
Students of the Department had trooped out in their numbers to welcome and listen to the Man of the People as he is fondly called by all and sundry and Adegbesan’s assuring words were met by happy faces of students who showed confidence in his candidature and hoped that he becomes victorious at the polls.
The Coordinator of the Department of Mass Communication, Mrs Ogunnariwo appreciated the politician for his kind gesture and goodwill, emphasizing that the generator will further aid the smooth running of the Department and help students realize their dreams of becoming professionals in the field of Mass Communication at the end of their programmes in the school.
