I am Accessible and Approachable- SUG PRESIDENT

The Newly Elected Student Union Government President of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Comrade Abdul Azeez Olawale, has said that he is accessable and approachable.

He made this statement in his Presidential speech during the SUG Inauguration ceremony which held at the institution’s auditorium on Friday.

In an event which had the presence of principal officers of the institution, students and parents, Azeez noted that the impact of the former Rector of the institution; Professor Jumoke Bilesanmi-Awoderu cannot be overemphasized. He said “The history of this Polytechnic would never be complete without mentioning the efforts and giant strides of the former Rector Professor Jumoke Bilesanmi-Awoderu who above all odds gave us the avenue to experience proper studentship, helping the institution reach new heights of high development”. 

The President-Elect, in his while addressing the students and management of the institution (AAPOLY) assured the students that his administration will serve the students till their last minute in office. 

He also noted that students won't need to go extra mile before his administration on will listen to student issues and work earnestly to find solution to them.

The Statement which reads: _ "I am asking you my fellow students to always come to me if you need be, I am accessible and approachable and you won't need to go extra mile before we listen to your issues and work earnestly to find solution to them.

You elected me and my team (TEAM IMPACT) and I am assuring you that we will serve you till our last minute as SUG executives of this Polytechnic." 

Also, in his statement; the SUG president (Azeez) seek for support from the  students and the institution management in order to make his leadership strong and reliable as he called the institution management to some Swift action as he list out some request.

"Here are the request I want the Rector Ma and the Management team to please put into consideration for us: 

1. Stable busary officer at Abusi Annex

2. Establishment of the x-ray unit at the annex so it can ease and save student from the risks of going to the Main Campus, reducing the cost of transportation fee for the students at the annex.

3. Possible Reduction of 7 files

4. Cancellation of penalties on late school fee payment. This is important because students who struggle to pay fees due to the economic status are always overwhelmed by the additional fees.

5. Renovation of the sports complex

6. Renovation/Fixed fee for late submission of file

7. Situating a commercial bank's Mini Branch in the school

8. Improvement of the health sector at the Abusi Annex.

9. Reduction in additional fees; including 27,500 and other inclusive fees." He said.

He also added that the school management should repair the roof of the institution main auditorium and ND 1 Mass Communication Lecture Hall at Abusi Annex before the forthcoming examination.

The statement also reads "To the management, without you there won't be standing AAPOLY, your efforts at ensuring sanity and development in the Institution will never go unnoticed.

I would need more of your support in order to make leadership a strong and reliable one.

Fellow Student, you have chosen me to become not just your president, but your representative, I am letting you know today, that I may be the Number One Student of the Polytechnic, but in every of my actions, I will put you first. 

There are problems that will not only be solved by the help of the management and the Governing Council; but your full support."_
