While explaining reasons for the suspension, he said, "The management sensed insecurity in the atmosphere as at that time, as crisis we're about to erupt in the campus. The aspirants are too desperate to be in power and ready to do anything to get to the position."

"The departmental association is not a do or die affair, it is a leadership position where you will be train on how to be a leader in the outside world"

Aro further explained the need to reinstate the departmental association saying "The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) recognize the need for student association and due to the suspension, the department had formed a caretaker committee with representatives from all levels to take charge of the association and work on how election will be conducted"

He however advised students who will be vying for different position or the other not to be too desperate for position and know that being in that position is to fight for the right students.
