The Higher National Diploma (HNDI) team of the Mass Communication department,  Abraham Adesanya polytechnic,  Ijebu-igbo recently complained bitterly over what they called 'unnecessary referee influence' and other inadequacies during their first match against the HNDI Business Administration team in the ongoing Departmental Cup competition.

The captain of the MassComm team,  Abidal expressed sadness while speaking with our correspondents at the venue stressing that the match did not follow the scheduled time frame.

The fresher's cup competition which kick off on Wednesday, at Keegbo main field was said to have commenced lately has led to the postponement of some matches.

Abidal also said: "From the onset,  the captain of the other team had confused us over the time schedule.  We were ready to get on the field before he told us that the ladies were the next to play. That wrong information delayed us and although it almost made us lose morale, despite the delay we still won the match. Also during the match,  he was talking to the referee and I suspect he wanted the referee to extend the time because they were already losing".

Abidal further expressed optimism over the next match saying that "we would put in our best and hopefully victory will be ours again".
