Students commends inec,blames government for power outage

Students of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic have commended inec for the peaceful conduct of the presidential and senatorial election at ijebu igbo,Ogun state.

students who voted peacefully at their different polling unit commended the electorial body for making the election processes transperent.

students who spoke to ucjaapoly said they were happy on the election day because there was no electoral violence.

Apparently, voters in ijebu-igbo local government decried the lack of power supply which rocked the town on the day of election.

Voters most of which were youths and students complained that the issue of power supply is causing a negative impact in their academics and needs to be addressed by whomsover that assumes the different leadership positions.

A voter, khadijat Oriyomi who spoke to our correspondent said ‘’we assume that we were not given light so that we wont be comfortable in our houses and also have no choice but to go out to vote；but that is not the right way to share the dividends of democracy especially during a sensitive and controversial period like this‘’.

A student,Deborah Akinola said ‘’i was at ijebu-igbo town hall two weeks ago when the vice president Yemi Osinbajo campaigned and promised that there would be a standby power supply and all residents will have light at the same time and not the case of some having light and some not‘’.

Voters further called on the government to carve ways in solving issues affecting the livelihood of the average Nigerians so as to ensure a better life for all.
