Every year, students get admitted into institutions of learning to earn a degree or in other cases be inducted into a certain cadre of professionals. Every prospective graduate face various challenges in order to finish excellently so as to be employable in the labour market or have a degree to foster their positions in jobs they already have. For every student, probles are inevitable; however if they are dogged enough, due excellence awaits then.

Here are five steps every student need to take in order to be successful in school.

1. Pray and have a winner-mindset from the start.
Students need to understand the importance of having a predetermined winner-mindset. Before an athlete takes off on the track, he must have the mentality that he wants to win; this will help him map out plans for the victory and excellence he has envisaged. Also, making a positive prediction of how he wants his academic sojourn to be, in order helps him plan better. Meanwhile, prayer is a factor that can never run out of style. Most people see it as the beginning and end of every  decision-making.

2. Know yourself and Map-Out plans.
The mindset alone cannot win the race; it takes the ability to know how you can be outstanding and carve out ways to bring it to reality. This is saying that a student needs to know things that keep him off track and the ones that keep him back on track. He needs to figure out the vest time for him to read and comprehend. Also, any student who wants to attain a remarkable level of success must know friends and how their friendship affect him either positively or otherwise. Getting to know this will lead him to creating time, suspending unnecessary activities and giving more time to factors that will lead him to success.

3. Study like it's a joke.

This sounds like a joke already. I am giving this advise because it has worked for so many people including myself. A professor once said: "Study the hardest things through the easiest and most casual ways and you will understand it better. Explain it to others like its a simple arithmetic and you will never forget it". This clearly shows that when you study a certain course like it is not a hard but to crack, you will easily understand especially when you relate it to issues surrounding your society; it sticks. One also needs to study with optimism whilst also noting that it is more important to study-to-understand than to study-to-pass.

4. Be humble and respectful to every single person.

Whether you are already an excellent student or an average, you need to be sincerely humble and respectful to every one including lecturers, non-teaching staff and colleagues. A student who wants to 'pass' or is already a 'star' should never think he is better than other people. As a matter of fact, no one is indispensable.

5.
You've worked hard; Play hard!

Having done the needful in the four walls of the classroom, the student should remember that 'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy'. You should attend parties, go on dates, roadtrips, hangouts and meetings. When you unwind, you recover fresh energy for new rounds of academic duties.

In conclusion, shunning all kinds of vices will help student live a completely sane life void of preventable rascality, violence and disappointment.
